I met Andy through Val tagging along to a meeting. Despite not being a close friend or colleague, only meeting him now and then over the past 6 years collaborating on a project together, it is quite clear what a loss it is for everybody who knew him, especially for his family. My thoughts are with them. He was full of ideas and energy, positive, thoughtful, always trying to help, encouraging, inspiring, friendly and always ready for a smile and laughter. I am in shear disbelief this has happened. Only last year in January we were on an airplane together back from a meeting in Birmingham, only a few months ago we spoke about his treatment, only last week I received an email from him. I am so saddened that he is not with us anymore, but I will always remember him and his memory will bring always a smile to my face.
