Andy's always cheerful demeanour will be sorely missed, as well as his immensely strong scientific contribution to our Institute. His courage in telling us about his illness so openly in its final stages was truly remarkable and an example to us all. I was so glad when I saw that Andy had been honoured with a College recognition award, completely appropriate, totally deserved. His persona will be a huge loss to everyone in Edinburgh.
