One of the fondest memories I have of Andy was when he kindly offered to arrange a week's work experience for my daughter at Edinburgh’s Dental School. We got to chatting about family and when I told him that my daughter was interested in exploring a career in dentistry, he said "leave it with me, I know a man who can arrange a placement!" My daughter had the most fantastic week and has 18 months until she graduates as a dentist! Her enthusiasm and passion to become a dentist was cemented after that placement all those years ago! Andy was a genuinely lovely man who would go out his way to help anyone... it was a real privilege to know him.
