I first encountered Andy while studying for my PhD, with Andy eventually acting as the internal examiner for my viva. It was during those few hours that I really got to know the depth of knowledge he had in his field. I later got a chance to work alongside him, teaching undergraduate students, where I got to witness how great a teacher he was. He will be sorely missed within the IGC community.
