Andy was the first research group leader to reach out to me when I joined the Institute. He made me feel so welcome and valued, even though I was still learning the ropes. I remember how enthusiastic he was at that first meeting talking about all the schools outreach he'd done to encourage young people into science in the future. Such a supportive and encouraging person, I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him. He'll be sorely missed.
